Stop Performing Now!

Ever feel like you are performing for everybody, including God? As of late my husband Bishop and Pastor Jerry Pruitt of FBIC in Phoenix AZ. (@bishoppruitt twitter.com) has been bring a series of messages on God Loves Us!The response has been over the top! Many in Christ do not know that they are set free from guilt and condemnation once they commit themselves to Christ.
We must never take for granted the word of God when it declares "Who God Sets Free, Is Free Indeed" I myself have been of the very few not had to battle this situation. (self righteousness settled in early in life}lol I believe those who had natural Fathers in life that were there to guide them helps out greatly to accept the love of the Father of heaven.
What happens is when you don't know the love of God you will begin to perform for Him and those around you. The very word perform means:do, execute, achieve, act upon, play, put on, stage..Do any of these words describe you? Do you find yourself condemned because you do not read enough, pray enough, praise enough? Get my point?
Well, not to say we should not do the above, but never forgetting this is for our benifit, not His! Now that's good news huh? Years ago before I knew Christ I was put in a situation of free will in my personal life. It was as if I were in a box that I couldn't get out of. Without going into all the very long details of what took place before the choice came to me I was liberated by the fact there was a choice!
As soon as I realized that I had a free will to my very serious situation instead of running from it I totally embraced it! Weird huh? That a choice of freedom will cause you to choose the better part even when it seems to be the road of least resistance! we learn that God is for us and not against us.
We will read more, pray more, praise more..get it? It;s His love that causes us to do things in Him and for Him. We can stop the performance act! So today precious readers get off the treadmill of performance by faith accept that you have been redeemed by His blood and there is absolutely accept you are His beloved! That it is a finished work that Christ provided at the cross. He loves you as you are! God's word declares in John 3:16 for God so loved the world He gave His only son! Accept the gift of love, live out the gift of love. This can only happen (if) you stop the performing now!
